What’s in a food parcel?
Our foodbank provides three days of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food.
The Trussell Trust has worked with nutritionists to ensure food parcels contains sufficient nutrition for three days worth of healthy, balanced meals for individuals and families.
A typical food parcel includes:
- Tinned Meat / Fish
- Tinned Vegetables / Potatoes
- Tinned Fruit
- Tinned Rice Pudding / Custard
- Tinned Meat or Vegetarian Meals
- Tinned Tomatoes
- Tinned Soup
- Tinned beans / spaghetti
- Pasta Sauce
- Dried Pasta / Rice
- Breakfast Cereal
- Biscuits
- Chocolate & snacks
- Jam / Spread
- UHT Milk
- Tea / Coffee
- Fruit Juice
Dietary requirements
Our foodbank can usually adapt your food parcel to meet your dietary needs, for example, gluten free or vegetarian. When you arrive at the foodbank centre, a volunteer will chat to you about an special dietary requirements you may have.
Non-food essentials
In addition to food we can also provide non-food essentials such as:
- Toilet paper
- Washing machine tablets
- Washing up liquid
- Feminine hygiene
- Toiletries
We can also help with cat and dog food if you have a pet.
