There are some fantastic local organisations in Dorking that can provide support with a wide range of challenges.

The Dorking Foodbank works closely with the following teams who offer help to local people in crisis. These teams can also issue foodbank referral vouchers:

  • The Dorking Citizens Advice team

    Citizens Advice help thousands of people to resolve their legal, money and a huge variety of other issues by providing free, independent and confidential advice every year.

  • The Goodwyns Children’s Centre

    From drop in sessions to health clinics, outreach and home visiting services to adult learning, we aim to work in partnership with families to empower each individual to reach their full potential.

There are also some national organisations who can also offer help:

  • NHS Business Services Authority

    They offer help with prescription and dental charges, the cost of glasses, travel and other healthcare expenses. Have a look at their online checker to see if you’re eligible.

  • Macmillan Cancer Support

    Anyone struggling to cope with the financial impact of cancer can call Macmillan’s free support line for welfare advice on 0808 808 00 00 (Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm) or visit www.macmillan.org.uk

  • Healthy Start

    Anyone who is pregnant or those that have children under 4 years old could qualify for Healthy Start. The scheme offers free vouchers every week to spend on milk, fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, and infant formula milk, as well as free vitamins. Click here to find out more.
