An appeal court has ruled the DWP acted unlawfully when two low-income households lost approximately £180 per month when their legacy benefits were wrongly stopped and they were forced to move to universal credit. The ruling holds out the prospect of redress for potentially thousands of claimants who have lost out after moving to universal credit as a result of official error. Read more here.
